The March BHVA Board meeting will be on the 10th in the Conference Room at 5pm.
The Traditional Walks for 2026 are listed below:
Spring walk following the Spring membership meeting April 25th
Stockade Lake in Custer State Park on the free weekend, May 16th
Spring Crazy Horse (AVA 50th anniversary and Crazy Horse 40th anniversary) June 6th
Outlaw Ranch (our AVA/BHVA celebration) Sunday June 7th early morning walk with an Anniversary Party in Way Park in Custer from 10:30-1:30 at the gazebo and covered shelter.
Whitewood June 13th
Sturgis June 20th
White Ranch (Sundance, WY) June 27th
Silver City Pie and Ice Cream Social (Sunday) July 12th
Custer County Fair at Hermosa (Friday afternoon/evening) August 7th
Belle Fourche (an extended traditional walk beginning August 15th-Aug 23rd) I will be there on the 15th and will have the stamp available for the BHVA Bus Trip
BHVA bus trip (Aug 19th-22nd) with walks planned at Medora, ND and Lemmon, SD for certain at this point
Samelius Trailhead with a walk out to the Empire Mine Sept 12th
Fall Crazy Horse is September 27th please bring 3 cans of food for admission to the Crazy Horse Memorial (this also applies to the Spring Crazy Horse event)
Fall Walk following the Fall Membership Meeting on Oct 10th
Also the Custer State Park Centennial Trail Extended Distance Walk can be signed up for on Oct 10th before the meeting and will run through Oct. 18th
The final Traditional walk is the Holiday Walk at the DC Booth Fish Hatchery on Dec. 5th.
The next AVA is offering a new special program for just 2026 sponsored by the Falcon Wanderers called the Anniversaries Hurrah. Many, if not all, of our walks fit into the requirements for the 25 walks in the program. The books cost $14 m. Here is a link to the special programs page: cb.ava.org/specprog.php.

Sunshine, Fresh Air, & Exercise are good for us!
We are offering 20 traditional walks in 2025, along with 17 year-round and seasonal walks so it should
be easy to earn this patch, which just requires 10
walks listed in our membership book. To earn the Scheel incentive/club vest you must walk 20 walks (10 different walks sponsored by BHVA.) For more details please refer to the Incentive Tab listed under the More drop down menu.
Membership Chair, Beth Hendricks also wanted me to remind those of you that haven't renewed your dues yet that now would be a great time to due so.
