BHVA members mark your calendars for the Fall Meeting date on October 17th at 9 a.m. at the Canyon Lake Senior Citizens Center.
October 3rd, Deerfield Lake, was a beautiful day for a walk. We wore our rain gear just in case but thankfully we did not need it. The 40+ degree weather made for great walking in rain gear--we weren't too warm or too cold--it was just right.
Wanda Moranti, our president, has broken her wrist and is unable to write a fall newsletter at this time. She did want to remind members that she would like traditional (weekend) walk proposals for 2016 at the fall meeting. You will find two documents on the Club Info page under the More tab. Here is a link to that page:http://www.bhva.org/club-info.html
One is a pdf that you can print off and mail in to the address on the form and the other is a form that you can type in and email to Wanda.
The proposed bus trip to Minnesota is being planned for September so that month will fill up fast. The 2016 Fall Crazy Horse will be the first Sunday in October, so plan accordingly. Don't be timid. If you have a great location for a walk but have never been the Point Of Contact (POC) for a walk, ask members who have been a POC or BHVA board members for help.
Change in starting point for the Lead area seasonal walks.
The Englewood, City of Lead, and Kirk-Mickelson Trail seasonal walks have new starting point. Lynn's Dakotamart, which is behind Daktomart Gas at 103 Glendale Drive. Location is across the street from former Days Inn. The walk box is located past the shopping carts on the right.
Buffalo Beat pins are available at the 2015 traditional walks. The pins are $5 and match the logo on our 30th anniversary shirts. You can also look for them at the specialties tent at Crazy Horse.
This is what our 30th Anniversary Incentive patch looks like for 2015. Any 10 events in the BHVA Event book counts. There is a pdf of the incentive card on our incentive page that you can print off or look for incentive cards in any year round walk box. The incentive patch is something that anyone one can earn.
BHVA members can earn an additional incentive by completing any 10 events plus 10 different walks (a separate incentive card). This year, members can earn either a wind breaker or a club vest. After a visit to the incentive page
